NEW SCHOOL FRUIT CAKE

We at homestead pride ourselves in the traditions of baking. When we look to design our menus we look at classics. This time around we took it upon ourselves to take on a new challenge: FRUIT CAKE. 

Now for all you fruit cake lovers, I am going to apologize in advance. Because we straight up do not understand the hype.  We wanted the ingredients to be natural, focused on traditional holiday spices; and source every ingredient possible from local suppliers.  The one we are most excited about is Collingwood Whiskey, this stuff is the real deal. For those of you who don't know about them. Check out their website at www.collingwoodwhiskey.com. We used their Toasted Maple Wood Whiskey and it added such an amazing flavour to the fruitcake.
